2026 Atlantic hurricane season will run from June 1 to November 30, 2026. The season’s peak is typically around September 10.
2025 Atlantic hurricane season was June 1 to November 30, 2025. Luckily, there was no hurricanes that hit Southwest Florida.

9 October 2024 (D22 Commander Ron Jones): Tropical Storm Milton made landfall as a Category 3 Hurricane on the west coast of Florida, within District 22. Please stay safe during recovery operations. Squadrons that need assistance should contact the District 22 Commander so communications can be coordinated for help.

• Operation Blue Tarp: Program offered by FEMA through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to eligible homeowners and landlords. It provides a temporary covering of blue plastic sheeting to help reduce further damage to property until permanent repairs can be made. Residents can call toll free 1-888-ROOF-BLU (1-888-766-3258).
