Merit Mark

A “Merit Mark” is awarded yearly by the Chief Commander to a club member for substantial personal effort in furthering the interest, programs and objectives of America’s Boating Club, its districts and local clubs.

America’s Boating Club establishes national guidance which indicates when a set number of Merit Marks can be used as a membership benefit.

It is a coveted award, and is the only significant official recognition members receive for their efforts.  Only one merit mark may be awarded in a year to a member, no matter how extensive the  contribution.  A certificate is also issued, and a special insignia may be worn on USPS uniforms.
